Gearboxes
This kit is the needed hardware to attach a CIM Motor (am-0225) to a CIM
Sport Gearbox.
Specifications:
Individual Components within this Bundle:
This component attaches to a CIM Motor (am-0255) and secures to the housing
and input stage for a CIM Sport Gearbox. This motor block is not the standard
motor block but is included with the CIM Sport. Use this motor block if you are
looking to save on space and weight. To use this motor block the CIM shaft will
have to be cut 1 in. shorter in order to fit inside the gearbox.

Housing for CIMple Box
Specifications:
All AndyMark gearboxes require grease for proper operation and long life. We suggest using our red tacky grease, am-2768. We also encourage that the user powers the gearbox continuously for 30 minutes without grease to allow the gear teeth to wear in. While we do design with short run times in mind, this 'run in' period for smooth gearbox operation, is recommended. Once this is completed, thoroughly grease the gear teeth periodically to ensure smooth operation.
Product Overview:
This gearbox is shipped in kit form, unassembled. The CIM Motors are NOT INCLUDED with this gearbox.
CIMple Box accepts two (or one) 2.5 inch CIM Motors. Hardware is included for attaching two of these motors.

Included Hardware:
Additional Encoder: An optional Encoder can be purchased and added to this CIMple Box.
DART is a strong, fast, linear actuator designed by the engineers at iR3 Creative. It's driven by a CIM Motor and uses a 0.2 inch pitch ACME lead screw to actuate an aluminum tube 6 inches. Two different sensor feedback methods are available with this actuator, with a potentiometer included in the assembly. An optional DART Sensor Pack is available (but not included), using hall effect sensors detecting a moving magnet near the lead screw nut. iR3 Creative developed this actuator in 2014, and it has received a design upgrade for a new release in January of 2016. This design upgrade focused on cost savings compared to the previous design, and therefore the price has been dropped by over $80. This version functions the same as the previous version, but the internal parts are unique and different from the past version. This is why we have re-numbered this version to have an "a" as the suffix of the part number, am-3072a. The steel, double leaded screw has a 0.50" O.D., a 0.20" lead, and 53% efficiency. The 6" stroke assembly weighs approximately 3.0 lbs without the CIM motor and 5.8 lbs with. There is a 12" version ( am-3072a) of this same DART actuator if you wish to have a longer stroke.
Linear actuators are not meant to be side loaded. The use of rod ends is encouraged to avoid these type of loads. This product is shipped unassembled. Please see the assembly instructions for how to put this product together. We chose to ship this product unassembled in order to be able to offer it at a low price.
Note: The CIM Motor (am-0255) and the DART Sensor Kit (am-3077a) are NOT included in this product, and need to be purchased separately.

**NEW** Improvements, as of November, 2016:
We've listened to customer feedback and responded with these improvements.

APPLICATION NOTE:
Linear actuators are not meant to be side loaded. The use of rod ends is encouraged to avoid these type of loads. Each end is tapped for a 5/16"-24 thread to accept common rod end sizes.
The DART was designed to achieve equivalent forces of a 2" bore pneumatic cylinder at 60 psi and to be used with a CIM motor fused at 40 amps. While it's possible to exceed these values you may see decreased life in the various ware components.
It is recommended to run this actuator with hall effect and/or current protection as it is possible to stall or "stick" the lead screws when stalled against a hard stop at both ends of travel. It's recommended to use the the hall effect switches to limit travel of the actuator from the end stops. When using faster ratios it may be possible to overrun the limits slightly and programming methods may require ease into stroke ends. If you are not able to program these functions we recommend using a Talon SRX which has on-board switch monitoring and current protection.
This is optional pulley and belt kit for the DART linear actuators. This kit
speeds up the linear output speed of the DART, compared with the standard pulley
and belt kit. This kit has a ratio of 1:1, as the standard ratio for the DART is
2.5:1. This is used with either the 12" Actuator (am-3072a) or the 6" Actuator
(am-3076a) to provide 81.7 lbf at 13.3.
Feedback from the actuator can be acquired using potentiometer included on the
DART or the optional DART Sensor Kit (am-3077a.)

This motor plate accepts one or two AndyMark 775 RedLine Motors (am-3775) for
use in a DeCIMate Gearbox (am-3745). This plate forms the structure of the
DeCIMate gearbox along with the Output Plate for DeCIMate (am-3692).
Specifications:
This output plate forms the structure of the DeCIMate Gearbox (am-3745) along
with the DeCIMate Motor Plate (am-3693). This plate mimics the mounting features
of a CIM motor meaning anywhere you could mount a CIM, there too the DeCIMate
can go.
Specifications:
Product Overview:
The black portion shown in the picture above is the same gearbox housing as
the AM Planetary (am-0002). This gearbox has the same output geometry as a CIM
Motor.

Specifications:
This is the motor plate for all 3 Stage 3 Motor EVO Shifter transmissions.
This plate in conjunction with an EVO Shifter 3 Stage Output Plate captures the
internal components of a 3 Stage 3 Motor EVO Shifter. This plate has the
mounting features for three CIM motors.
Specifications:
Note: Please specifiy the ratio at check out. See the Andymark site for ratio details.
The EVO Shifter is our next EVOlution of a shifting transmission gearbox. It's design was developed from the lessons learned during our experience using the AM Shifter since 2004, the Super Shifter since 2007 and the Sonic Shifter since 2013.
This transmission is a two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox, using an improved 4-tooth dog shifting method. Motor input can be two or three CIM motors (or AM Planetary Gearboxes). The transmission can be configured with two or three interior stages, and a selection of various 1/2 inch output shafts. Plates are designed for mounting either two or three CIM motors. No servo shifting is available with this shifter. This transmission is shipped assembled, but without the CIM motors installed, even if the CIM motors are ordered with the gearbox.
Improvements:
Fourteen significant improvements, not seen in previous AndyMark shifters, have been implemented in the EVO Shifter.
The dog gear now has 4 dogs on each face. This allows more material around the dog gear screw, increasing strength over previous designs.
Air Cylinder Shifting:
The EVO Shifter only uses a pneumatic shift method.
Weight Range (Without Motors):
Two Stage: 2.9 - 3.2 Pounds
Three Stage: 3.3 - 3.5 Pounds
Note about CIMs:
The EVO Shifter utilizes a 15 Tooth 32DP gear as the CIM gear which requires a press fit. Due to the intended interference fit (0.001 - 0.002") along the 0.750" long gear, a minimum 3 ton arbor press is required to install this gear onto the motor in conjunction with a provided aluminum spacer to help set the distance of which the pinion should be installed from the end of the motor shaft (approximately 0.40"). If you do not have access to this size arbor press, we have the option to add CIM motors to your order with the pinion gears pre-installed, available as am-0255_15T.
Usage, Greasing and Break-in:
All AndyMark gearboxes require grease for proper operation and long life. Use our Red Tacky Grease, 14.2 gram (am-2768). However, before applying grease, it is helpful to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease to allow the gear teeth to wear in. While we do design with short run times in mind, this 'break in' period for smooth gearbox operation is recommended. Once this is completed, apply grease to the spur gears periodically to ensure smooth operation. No grease is needed on the AMPCO® bronze dog gear.
